Quick link to my BMW S-1000 RR Journey

I started riding motorcycles about 10 years ago. My first motorcycle, after I got the initial license was a Suzuki Gladius. After a year I upgraded my driving license to an unlimited license and traded in the Gladius for a GSX-S1000 FA. An amazing motorcycle that I had for 7 years and drove 165,000 km on.

I should have kept it for longer and I’m sure it could have served me well for many more years, but I decided to upgrade to a new bike of the same class and traded it in for a red Suzuki GSX S-1000 GX. That one was a real flop. Its main problem was that I blew scorching hot air right into my right ankle. I had it for less than a year and then decided to settle down and get an old-people’s bike – a Suzuki VStrom 800 DE. It was an extremely comfortable bike and I could ride it on dirt roads. But it was too slow for me.

At this point I realized that if I won’t buy a super-sport bike now, then it will never happen. I mean, when will I ride in the uncomfortable tucked position?

When I’ll be 80? So I decided to buy the ultimate super-sport, road-legal bike, the BMW S1000 RR.

I found that using an S1000 RR as a daily bike is a journey. I believe that I may be the only person on earth riding it to work every day (130 km in both directions). I will document this journey here in my blog. Click on the link to join my journey – BMW S1000 RR.
