Route 60 is one of the 5 north-south roads in Israel. It connects the Negev city of Beer Sheva with Nazareth. The section between the renowned Tapuach (Apple) Junction and Jerusalem is used by tens of thousands of people every day and it has one lane in each direction.
Now route 60, between the Tapuach Junction and Jerusalem is undergoing a massive face-lift and it gets a second lane in each direction. This work is expected to end in 2029 and until now the congestion is even worse than before.

As you can see, I drove at an average speed of 60 km/h which is an amazing achievement and can be done only by motorcycle (well, any motorcycle). By car these 48 km now take between 90 and 120 minutes.
And here’s a photo of us at the newly constructed entrance to Jerusalem.
